In the 33 years Jerry Ponder has worked as a fitted kitchen and bathroom specialist, he has personally supervised and project managed the design and installation of more than 2500 fitted kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, of which kitchens represent around 80%.
His role is in the business to oversee projects from inception to completion, which includes visiting customers homes, taking their brief, and producing a design and accurate quotation.
Thereafter, once an order is placed, his project management involves specifying and ordering materials, instructing joiners, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, tilers and decorators, and specifying their work, site visits to check progress and quality, liaison with customers as work progresses, and final check of quality including overseeing the snagging phase.
Jerry has written 90 expert witness reports concerning fitted kitchens. He is experienced in both preparing documents for the court and in giving written and oral evidence in court.
Jerry maintains Continuous Professional Development through his activities within the industry and by attendance at training courses, with particular reference to his activities as an expert.
Jerry has worked for the BBC - on a Rogue Traders show in 2009, investigating a Manchester-based fitted kitchen trader; and on an instalment of Watchdog in 2011, investigating the design and installation practices of a DIY Multiple, in both cases in his capacity as an expert in fitted kitchen and bathroom design and project management. He appeared in an episode of The Legalizer in 2012, which concerned an incomplete kitchen in Lincoln.
